Digital biomarkers are being utilized by Monument Therapeutics to develop targeted treatments for high-unmet-need areas in psychiatry and neurology. The Macclesfield-based clinical-stage biotechnology company recently secured an estimated £1.1m in new funding to support its work in conditions such as neuroinflammation and cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia.

Incorporated in 2019, the firm operates as a spin-out from Cambridge Cognition, having officially formed in 2021. The precision medicine approach aims to reduce heterogeneity in central nervous system diseases by matching patients with homogenous underlying neurobiology to particular compounds. This methodology mirrors strategies used in oncology to improve treatment response rates.

The business employs seven people, according to accounts for the period ending 30 June 2025, while total funding raised during that calendar year amounted to £902.8k. This current round was documented in filings processed during June 2026.
