Advanced Material Development secures £2m for nanomaterial commercialisation
Published
An estimated £2m has been raised by Farnborough-based Advanced Material Development Limited (AMD) to support the commercialisation of 2D nanomaterial technology. Founded in 2017, the firm produces graphene inks and emulsions for industrial use.
Proprietary platforms include nHance, a printable system, and nLight, a polymeric photonic crystal platform. These enable solutions such as advanced sensors, anti-counterfeiting measures, and functional coatings for the automotive, aerospace, defense, and life sciences sectors.
Licensing, joint development, and long-term commercial partnerships with global partners and OEMs facilitate market entry across smart packaging, logistics, manufacturing, and security. Targeted use cases cover medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical monitoring systems, and non-metallic RFID, supported by applied engineering and technology validation.
Latest accounts for the year ended 31 July 2025 reported nine employees, though LinkedIn lists 18 members of staff. The new capital injection follows a total of £475.2k secured during the previous year. Dr. Izabela Jurewicz was appointed as a director in June 2026.
