Veirulence Ltd raises £47k for antimicrobial resistance therapy

Targeting the weapon systems bacteria use to cause disease, London-based Veirulence Ltd has raised £47k in a new funding round. The investment brings the company to an estimated post-money valuation of £3.7m. This pharmaceutical developer is creating a first-in-class small-molecule therapeutic that inhibits the swarming virulence factor of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The pathogen is identified by the World Health Organization as a priority due to its association with severe hospital-acquired infections.

Founded in 2022, the startup aims to address a global unmet need for improved treatments. Its approach prevents infections from establishing and works synergistically to enhance the efficacy of antibiotics. The drug is intended for use in healthcare settings where multidrug-resistant bacterial strains are prevalent.

This latest capital injection follows a total of £351.5k raised during 2025. According to LinkedIn data, the business operates with a team of two employees. The most recent accounts for the firm were filed for the financial year ending 30 November 2024.
