An estimated post-money valuation of £977.7m has been reached by Genomics England following a new £80m funding round. Based in London, the company is a UK Department of Health and Social Care-owned entity that sequences NHS patients’ genomes to help people live longer, healthier lives through genomic medicine.
The organization was founded in 2013 to deliver the 100,000 Genomes Project, providing genomic data services to clinicians and the wider health system. Financial results for the year ended 31 March 2026 show the business generated £30.6m in revenue while recording a £136.3m loss. Headcount is reported at 553 employees in the latest accounts, while LinkedIn records indicate 573 staff.
The current capital injection represents an increase over the £50m total raised during 2025. Formal documentation for the round was filed in September (following an allotment in August).
Technical capabilities include data science and bioinformatics to assist in the treatment of oncology and rare diseases. The company also utilizes the analysis of real world evidence to facilitate the creation of targeted medicines.
