Cosyne Therapeutics secures £8.1m seed round for AI drug discovery

Developing precision-medicine therapies for underserved brain diseases is the focus of London-based Cosyne Therapeutics, which has just secured an estimated £8.1m seed round at an undisclosed valuation. The company uses polymathic AI and computational target discovery to create treatments for conditions including brain cancer. This vertically integrated model focuses on accelerating the drug discovery process.

Incorporated in 2021, the startup reported 18 employees in its latest accounts for the year ended 28 February 2026. This funding represents the total capital raised by the business during the current calendar year. While official accounts list 18 staff, the company's LinkedIn profile currently identifies a headcount of 15.

Yara Hamid Alenazi was appointed as a director in July, which coincides with the allotment of the new shares. AI-derived matches suggest Alenazi, possibly a DPhil holder and a VC at Crane, though these links are unverified. Formal documentation for the transaction was filed in September.
