British electric motorcycle manufacturer Maeving Limited raises £3.9m

Maeving Limited has secured an estimated £3.9m in new funding to support its production of British-designed electric motorcycles. The Coventry-based company focuses on urban commuters, offering classically styled vehicles intended as an alternative to traditional city transport.

Incorporated in 2018, the business operates a direct-to-consumer model. It sells motorcycles through its own digital platform and provides doorstep delivery alongside mobile servicing, removing the requirement for a physical dealer network. The product design features removable batteries that can be charged at any standard UK plug socket. This feature is intended to solve the problem of charging infrastructure access for urban residents without private garages.

This latest capital injection (allotted in April and filed in May) follows a series of funding rounds completed over the previous 18 months. During 2025, the company recorded several allotments, including a £3m round in July and a £2.7m round in January. Other smaller tranches in early 2025 included amounts of £300k, £148.3k, £50k, and £34.1k. In the final quarter of 2024, the company raised a combined £1.37m across three separate filings.

Financial records for the year ending 31 December 2024 show that Maeving employed 40 people. More recent data from LinkedIn indicates the workforce has since expanded to 55 employees. The company maintains its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Coventry.

While specific valuation details for this latest £3.9m round were not disclosed in the filings, the company has now raised more than £11m in aggregate since late 2024. The new capital provides liquidity for the firm as it continues to manufacture and distribute its electric motorbikes directly to the UK market.
