Modular Solar Technologies secures £50k for plug-and-play solar units
Published
Homeowners looking to reduce electricity bills through plug-and-play solar units are the target market for Modular Solar Technologies, which has just secured £50k in new funding. Based in Hope Valley, the company manufactures modular solar systems that connect directly to standard outdoor mains sockets. These units allow for renewable energy generation without complex installations. The firm also produces off-grid modular solar power banks.
Founded in 2022, Modular Solar Technologies reported a £181.6k loss for the financial year ending 28 February 2025. The company currently operates with a team of two employees.
This latest £50k injection gives the company an estimated post-money valuation of £3.2m. This valuation is consistent with a previous round in February but is lower than the £3.4m valuation achieved in April.
The company has a history of frequent, smaller funding rounds. Since April 2023, it has raised capital on seven other occasions. These include a £150k round at a £1.6m valuation in April 2023 and a £100k round in April at a £3.4m valuation. Other previous rounds include £77k in February, £64k in September 2024, and two rounds totaling £91k in early 2024. The documentation for this latest round was filed in May (with an allotment date of September 2025).
