Homeowners looking to reduce electricity bills through modular renewable energy are the focus of Modular Solar Technologies Limited, which has just raised an estimated £77k. The Hope Valley-based company reached an estimated post-money valuation of £3.2m through this latest funding.

The company manufactures plug-and-play modular solar units designed to connect directly to standard outdoor mains sockets. This technology allows users to generate renewable energy without the need for complex, permanent installations. In addition to its residential units, the business offers off-grid modular solar power banks for portable energy storage.

Founded in 2022, the company reported a loss of £181.6k for the financial year ending 28 February 2025. During that period, the business operated with a headcount of two employees. The recent investment was allotted in February and filed in May.

This latest injection of capital follows a series of funding rounds completed over the last three years. The current £3.2m valuation is a slight decrease from the £3.4m valuation recorded in April. However, the figure remains level with the £3.2m valuation achieved in September 2025 and shows an increase from the £3.1m valuation in September 2024. Earlier rounds in 2024 saw the company valued at £3m and £1.7m, while its April 2023 round was completed at a £1.6m valuation.

Previous investments in the company include £100k in April, £50k in September 2025, and £64k in September 2024. The business also raised £45k and £46k in the first half of 2024, following a £99.9k round in March 2024 and a £150k round in April 2023.
