An estimated £50k has been raised by Cardiff-based Laennec Ai Limited to support its development of medical AI technology. The company focuses on creating software and devices that transform standard smartphones into digital stethoscopes, allowing for the remote patient monitoring of chronic respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Since its incorporation in 2022, the business has sought to address challenges faced by patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). By providing tools for home-based tracking, the technology is intended to increase the accessibility and affordability of healthcare while maintaining clinician oversight through remote data access.

The latest financial filings indicate this is the first capital injection recorded for the company during 2026 (allotment date June). Previous accounts for the period ending 31 July 2025 show the startup operated with a team of three employees.
