Trimtech Therapeutics secures £7.5m seed funding for CNS degrader pipeline
Published
Developing small-molecule degraders to target central nervous system neurodegenerative diseases is the core focus of Trimtech Therapeutics, which has recently secured an estimated £7.5m in seed funding. Based in Cambridge, the company was incorporated in 2023 to create CNS-penetrant therapeutics that selectively remove toxic protein aggregates. Its proprietary TRIMTAC and TRIMGLUE molecules are designed to treat severe inflammatory disorders and conditions including Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s.
This capital injection brings the total funding raised during 2026 to £16.2m. It previously raised £4m in 2025. Financial accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024 listed a single employee, though the headcount has since expanded to 21 people.
The board recently expanded with the appointment of Dr Nadiya Ishnazarova as a director. LinkedIn profiles suggest Dr Ishnazarova may be a Principal in Ventures Investments at Johnson and Johnson Innovation JJDC Inc, although this link is unverified. This change and the share allotment for the recent funding occurred in June; formal documentation was filed in July.
