Redx Pharma secures Series A for clinical-stage drug development
Published
Clinical-stage enterprise Redx Pharma Limited has secured £43.7m in a Series A funding round to fund the development of small-molecule therapeutics for fibrotic diseases. Founded in 2010, the business operates from laboratories at Alderley Park, Macclesfield, Cheshire.
The firm targets conditions such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and fibrostenotic Crohn’s disease using its pipeline of ROCK-pathway inhibitors. Its lead asset, a selective ROCK2 inhibitor called zelasudil (RXC007), entered Phase 2 human trials in late 2022. Another candidate, RXC008, is a gastrointestinal-targeted pan-ROCK inhibitor that began Phase 1 studies in the first quarter of 2024.
The company is also working on zamaporvint (RXC004), a Porcupine inhibitor for the treatment of cancer which started a Phase 2 programme in November 2021. The team consists of 37 employees, and this investment represents the only capital recorded for Redx in 2026.
Recent board changes include the appointment of Bernard Jozef Coulie and Andrew Sinclair. LinkedIn profiles suggest Sinclair may be the Head of Onboarding Operations at Northern Trust Asset Management, though this connection remains unverified. Documentation for the transaction was filed in September following an August allotment.
