Thompson Independent Traders Secures £300k for Whisky and Hospitality Portfolio

A portfolio of interests in the whisky and hospitality sectors is being expanded by Thompson Independent Traders Ltd following a new investment of an estimated £300k. The firm functions as a holding company for several entities, including the Dornoch Castle Hotel and the Dornoch Distillery Company Limited.

Based in Dornoch, the group was incorporated in 2023. Its activities encompass Thompson Bros independent bottling and blending, gin production, and the ongoing development of the Struie Distillery project.

This latest round, which was documented in July 2026, is the only capital raised by the company in the year to date. It follows a significantly larger total of £5.1m secured during 2025. The business's most recent financial accounts were prepared for the period ended 28 February 2025.
