Gateshead-based Phron Education secures £59.5k for school management software

Reducing administrative burdens for school staff is the primary goal of Phron Education Ltd, which recently secured an estimated £59.5k in new funding. Based in Gateshead, the company develops software modules designed to help teachers make evidence-based decisions regarding pupil care. This latest investment brings the estimated post-money valuation of the business to £471.2k.

The startup was incorporated in November 2025 and focuses on providing practical tools for Multi-Academy Trusts and individual schools. Its product suite, designed alongside educators, includes specialized modules for SEND, safeguarding, attendance, and behavior management. Additionally, the platform offers features for tracking assessment, reading progress, handwriting, and parent engagement to help drive genuine improvement in pupil outcomes.

The company, which maintains a headcount of two employees, derives its name from the Greek word for practical wisdom. Philip Peter Hartley joined the board as a director in June. This funding activity was documented in official filings (July) following a share allotment (June).
