Automating inventory tracking and asset management through passive RFID technology is the core focus of PervasID, which has just raised an estimated £1.3m. Based in Cambridge, the company supplies readers and solutions that provide real-time data for the healthcare, industrial, and retail sectors.

The business was incorporated in 2011 as a spin-out from the University of Cambridge Department of Engineering. Its hardware, including RAIN RFID readers, is designed to achieve nearly 100% detection accuracy over areas of 400 square meters without the need for manual handheld devices. These systems are used by aviation manufacturers, financial organizations, and logistics firms to streamline stock-taking processes.

This investment brings the total capital secured during 2026 to £1.7m, following a total of £200k raised throughout 2025. According to its most recent accounts for the period ending 31 March 2025, the firm employed nine people.

Douglas Moray Wright was appointed as a director in April. LinkedIn profiles suggest he is possibly a business partner of APG. Formal documentation for the share allotment was filed in June.
