Ogi Bio secures £517.6k for automated bioreactor technology

Microbial research efficiency is the focus of Edinburgh-based Ogi Bio Ltd, which has secured an estimated £517.6k in its latest funding round. The company develops advanced bioreactors and automated systems designed to improve precision for biotechnology firms, microbiology companies, and academic laboratories. These tools automate the cultivation process to reduce manual intervention in laboratory workflows.
Incorporated in 2020, the Scottish firm manufactures instruments used for measuring and testing for commercial clients in food manufacturing, health and beauty, and the development of green alternatives to petrochemicals. This latest investment total follows £1.4m recorded during 2025.
Staffing levels stood at 12 employees according to most recent accounts for the year ending 31 December 2025. Recent board changes occurred in June 2026, with Elaine Ferguson and Alan David Irvine appointed as directors.
