Octric Semiconductors secures £15m for high-performance component manufacturing

Advanced compound semiconductors, including Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, and Indium Phosphide, are the focus of Newcastle Upon Tyne-based Octric Semiconductors Limited. Operating in the manufacture of electronic components sector, the firm provides these materials for mission-critical applications in the telecommunications, satellite communications, space, aerospace, and defense sectors. A new funding round has seen the company raise £15m.
This investment results in an estimated post-money valuation of £105.4m. The capital injection follows a prior year during which the business secured £62.3m in total funding.
Founded in 2016, the company plans to move into commercial markets such as high-speed power electronics. Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025 show the business operated with one employee and recorded an £8.1m loss. Documentation for this latest round was filed in June 2026.
