Octric Semiconductors secures £14m at £119.4m valuation

Newcastle Upon Tyne is the base for Octric Semiconductors, a foundry manufacturing advanced compound semiconductor devices including GaAs, GaN, and InP wafers and dies. The firm has secured an estimated £14m in new capital, valuing the business at approximately £119.4m. Its products serve high-performance, mission-critical applications across the defence, satellite communications, space, aerospace, and telecommunications sectors.
Founded in 2016, the company also provides test services for its specialized hardware. Financial filings for the year ended 31 March 2025 show a loss of £8.1m. Total funding for 2026 now stands at £29m, following a £62.3m total in 2025.
The most recent accounts listed a headcount of one employee. In August, the company appointed Helen Elizabeth Ann Bridges as a director and completed the share allotment. LinkedIn suggests she may be the HR Director and Global HR Partner at Avery Dennison. Documentation for the transaction was filed in September.
