Newform Foods secures £260k for cellular agriculture platform
Published
Newform Foods develops a scalable bio-manufacturing platform designed for cellular agriculture. The London-based biotechnology firm recently secured an estimated £260k in new funding to support its end-to-end research and development services. These offerings include cell line development, media optimisation, and bioprocess design for partners creating cultivated food products.
Founded in 2023, the startup targets food-technology organisations seeking to bring next-generation cell-derived foods to market faster and more efficiently. While operations also extend to South Africa, the technology is intended to help reach global market readiness by streamlining the product scale-up process.
Documentation filed in September (following an allotment in June) confirmed the share issuance. Financial records for the year ending 31 December 2024 listed a single employee, though more recent data from LinkedIn indicates the workforce has grown to eight people.
