Homeowners can generate renewable energy via plug and play solar units from Modular Solar Technologies, which has just secured an estimated £125k in new funding. The Hope Valley based company manufactures modular systems designed to connect directly to standard outdoor mains sockets, alongside a range of off-grid modular solar power banks.

This latest investment values the business at an estimated £3.4m. The funding follows a series of smaller raises over the past two years. In February 2026, the company raised £77k at a £3.2m valuation, the same valuation applied to a £50k round in September 2025. Prior to that, Modular Solar Technologies raised £64k in September 2024 at a £3.1m valuation.

Founded in 2022, the company aims to reduce household electricity bills by simplifying the installation of solar hardware. Financial accounts for the year ended 28 February 2025 show the business recorded a £181.6k loss. At the time of those accounts, the company maintained a headcount of two employees.

The company valuation has grown steadily since its early stages. In April 2023, it raised £150k at a £1.6m valuation. By March 2024, a £99.9k round saw the valuation rise to £1.7m. Two subsequent rounds in April and May 2024, totaling £46k and £45k respectively, were completed at a £3m valuation.

The current round (allotted in April and filed in May) represents the highest valuation for the company to date. Modular Solar Technologies focuses on the manufacture of electrical equipment that allows for modular expansion of solar capacity without the need for complex permanent installations.
