Ifast Diagnostics secures £3m seed funding for rapid antimicrobial testing platform

Providing high-throughput and cost-effective testing for clinical laboratories, Ifast Diagnostics Limited has secured an estimated £3m seed funding round. The company develops a rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) platform designed to deliver results in under three hours from Gram-negative blood cultures or bacterial isolates.

The business was incorporated in 2022. Its technology is intended for use by healthcare providers to guide antibiotic prescribing.

Based in Fareham, the firm allotted the new shares in June, with formal documentation filed in July. This transaction represents the total funding raised by the company during 2026.

Latest accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025 show that the company employed 16 people.
