Modelmole secures £87.5k for AI-driven drug discovery platform

An estimated funding round of £87.5k has been secured by Modelmole Ltd, an Orpington-based developer of an autonomous platform for peptide and molecular design. This investment places the post-money valuation of the business at an estimated £3.4m. Physics-based methods are combined with swarm AI to identify novel, patentable drug candidates.

Biotech and pharmaceutical firms utilize the technology to accelerate the drug discovery process across diverse therapeutic areas. Since its incorporation in 2023, the startup has focused on tools to develop and optimize new proprietary and collaborative molecules.

Financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2025 show that the firm recorded a £688 loss. During that period, it maintained a team of three employees. The allotment of new shares associated with this funding round took place in July.
