Max Nicholas Renewables secures £30k for hydro turbine technology
Published
Generating renewable electricity from turbulent, shallow, or fast-flowing water is the focus of Lowestoft-based Max Nicholas Renewables Ltd, which has just secured an estimated £30k in new funding to advance its patented hydro turbine system. The company, which was incorporated in 2020, manages the development and commercialisation of the Continuous Maximum Thrust Turbine. This technology is engineered to operate in environments such as run-of-river sites, tidal races, and in-pipe outfalls.
Operating within the research and experimental development sector for natural sciences and engineering, the business markets its technology to utilities, infrastructure operators, and developers seeking low-cost, environmentally friendly hydro-power solutions. This latest investment represents the total funding recorded for the company during 2026.
Financial accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025 show the firm employed three people. Documentation for the share allotment was filed in September (following an allotment date in August).
