Converting captured CO2 into low-carbon, lab-grown industrial diamonds is the core focus of Banchory-based Hexseed Technology Limited, which has just secured an estimated £1.2b in funding. This capital represents the total investment raised by the business during 2026. The startup operates within the renewable energy semiconductor industry, creating high-value supermaterials for applications such as thermal-management solutions in advanced electronics.

This investment follows the company's incorporation in November 2025 to address environmental challenges by treating carbon not as waste but as a valuable raw material for advanced manufacturing. This carbon capture and utilisation process creates essential components for the sector. Corporate filings indicate the round was allotted in May and documented in June.

The firm reached an estimated post-money valuation of £58.9b following the transaction. The startup currently maintains a workforce of two employees. Its primary digital platform is located at hexseedtechnology.com.
