A funding round of £415k has been secured by Nottingham-based Footfalls Smartex Limited, valuing the business at an estimated £3.9m. The company manufactures smart textiles that act as pressure sensors by utilizing knitted conductive yarns, a process that removes the requirement for conventional electronic components.
Incorporated in 2023, the business develops products for healthcare, sports, rehabilitation, and aged care, alongside industrial applications in the aerospace and automobile industries. These textiles are used in items such as knee sleeves and mattress toppers to track motion directly through the fabric.
Financial records for the year ending 30 June 2025 show the firm employed eight people. The business previously raised a total of £538k during the 2025 calendar year and added a further £200k during 2026. This specific allotment of shares was finalized in November 2025 (with the corresponding documentation filed in September).
