Counterpress Media secures investment for digital publishing platform

Published

Journalists and content creators can build, monetize, and grow independent outlets using a digital publishing solutions platform developed by Counterpress Media Ltd, which has just secured an estimated £100k. The Wimborne-based startup is now valued at approximately £1.8m following the investment. Founded in 2024, the business provides strategic consultancy, brand design, and technical development support to its users.

This technology targets the UK sports sector and local communities, offering an alternative to large national publishers. It is designed to allow the creation of regional publications without the restrictive overheads, red tape, or invasive advertising, ensuring the reader is put first.

Financial records for the year ending 30 April 2025 showed the firm employed three people. This latest round (allotted in June) follows a previous £150k capital injection, while LinkedIn data indicates the current headcount has grown to 10.
