New funding for Astral Neutronics

Compact nuclear fusion reactors developed by Astral Neutronics Ltd are the focus of a new £3m funding round. Operating under the name Astral Systems, the Bristol-based firm utilizes Multi-State Fusion technology to manufacture these specialised systems.
The hardware is designed to produce on-demand radioisotopes for the radiopharmaceutical sector, aiding in cancer research and clinical treatment. Beyond medical applications, the company targets industrial non-destructive testing, radiography, and broader fusion energy research.
Incorporated in 2021, the business has seen a sharp rise in capital intake, with £22.4m raised so far in 2026. This follows a total of £1.3m secured throughout 2025. Financial records for the year ended 31 December 2024 show the company employed 15 people. David English was appointed to the board of directors in June 2026.
