Machine-vision systems for defence applications are the focus of Reading-based Applied Agi Limited, which has just raised an estimated £388.4k. The company incorporates mechanisms inspired by the human brain into its AI technology to improve recognition accuracy and robustness for military use.

Founded in 2019, the firm operates within the research and experimental development sector for natural sciences and engineering. This latest investment follows a £140.4k total raised during 2025. Documentation for the current round was filed in September 2026 (with an allotment date in the same month).

Latest financial accounts for the period ending 30 September 2024 show the business employed 14 people. However, the LinkedIn profile for the entity (appliedagi.com), which classifies the organisation under IT services and IT consulting, currently lists a smaller headcount of nine. Simon Gavin Piers Eccles-Williams joined the board as a director in August 2026.
