New investment for startup developing acoustic field manipulation systems

Software-defined control of liquids, powders, and solids via acoustic-levitation technology is the focus of Acoustofab Ltd, which has raised an estimated £368.5k in seed funding. The company is building a universal hardware and software stack to replace rigid, material-specific machinery with a single reprogrammable platform. This system enables contact-free material handling to eliminate cross-contamination and inefficiencies worth billions annually.

Founded in 2023, the London-based firm provides solutions for robot automation, lab automation, sorting, 3D printing, agritech, bioprocessing, and food-processing. The founding team holds 15 years of research expertise in computational holography and maintains a portfolio of patents and journal publications. Users can reconfigure workflows in software rather than hardware to move from research to full-scale production.

The business currently employs 34 people. This latest injection of capital brings the total funding raised during 2026 to £1.9m. The round was formally filed in September following an allotment of shares earlier in the year (April).
