Providing affordable financial advice through workplace pension schemes is the core mission of Wps Advisory Ltd, which has just raised £380k. This latest funding round values the Newcastle Upon Tyne firm at a post-money valuation of £481.2k.
Founded in 2014, Wps Advisory operates as a firm of independent financial advisers. The company specializes in retirement, investment, tax, and protection advice, primarily delivered to individuals through their employers or existing pension schemes. A central part of its service is a proprietary process called "Who am I", designed to help consumers navigate complex financial choices and reach informed decisions.
Financial records for the year ending 31 December 2024 show the company employed 61 people. Alternative data from LinkedIn indicates a headcount of 48. Since its launch, the firm has engaged with more than 100,000 clients, resulting in over 35,000 personal recommendations.
The business focuses on corporate schemes and provides individual advice to Defined Benefit (DB) members. It also collaborates with other independent financial adviser firms to offer specialist DB knowledge to their respective clients. Wps Advisory holds the Pension Gold Standard and received recognition as the Best Retirement Advisory firm in the UK from Pan Finance in late 2022.
This £380k capital injection follows documentation filed in May (allotted in January). The firm continues to operate from its headquarters in the North East, offering a range of services including life-stage money management, estate planning, and personal protection. Its digital presence includes tools such as LifeStage Compare and LifeStage Secure, which support its goal of making high-quality financial guidance accessible to a broader demographic through the workplace.
