A post-money valuation of £3.7m has been reached by Watercress Research Ltd following its latest £50k funding round. Based in Exeter, the company was incorporated in 2019 to develop urease inhibitory products derived from the watercress plant. These phytochemical-based solutions are designed for applications across continence care, cosmetics, and the food and drink sectors.

The business operates its own brand of skincare products, which includes a barrier cream specifically formulated for problem skin. These items are distributed directly to consumers and through various pharmacy chains. Its core scientific work involves plant science and phytochemistry to extract functional benefits from the raw material.

For the financial year ending 31 December 2024, the company reported a £179.5k loss. While Companies House records indicate a headcount of six employees, LinkedIn data lists a team of four. Previous activity includes a £33.5k round in August 2025 at a £3.3m valuation and a £165k round in July 2025 at a £3.2m valuation.
