Wastesync Ltd secures £25m for digital waste tracking compliance
Published
A £25m investment has been secured by Wastesync Ltd, a Strathaven-based technology firm valuing the business at £75m. The company creates middleware designed to ensure weighbridges remain operational during internet or national system outages.
The offline-first platform captures mandatory UK tracking data locally and syncs it once connectivity is restored. This technology helps sites comply with the October 2026 Digital Waste Tracking mandate, which will make paper transfer notes legally non-compliant. The architecture uses Go and Vue 3, deployed across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, to integrate with existing ERP systems without requiring a full hardware replacement.
Founded in May, the firm currently lists zero employees on its LinkedIn profile. Previous support has come from the RBS Accelerator and Barclays Eagle Labs, alongside winning the Inspire 100 competition through the Strathclyde Inspire Accelerator. Participation in the Scottish Government-backed Techscaler network and the Microsoft and Google for Startups founder networks has also been recorded.
Recent board changes include the appointment of Iain Stuart Baxter in June and Alastair Norman Mackie in May. LinkedIn data suggests Mackie is possibly associated with Impact, strategy, capital. The funding round was documented in July (allotment date: July 2026).
