The Smart Container Company Ltd raises £150k for Kegtracker IoT platform

Published

Real-time tracking for steel kegs and gas cylinders is the primary focus of The Smart Container Company Ltd, which has recently secured an estimated £150k in pre-seed funding. Based in Treforest, Pontypridd, the company was incorporated in 2018 to address supply chain visibility issues within the beverage and industrial gas industries.

The company developed Kegtracker, a patented Internet of Things (IoT) device and data platform. This technology provides real-time monitoring of volume, location, and temperature for steel kegs and gas cylinders. By utilizing these data-driven insights, businesses can reduce waste and improve operational efficiency throughout their distribution networks.

This latest pre-seed round values the business at an estimated £11.9m. The funding follows three previous pre-seed rounds completed in April 2025. Those earlier rounds raised £100k at an £11.6m valuation, £124.5k at an £11.7m valuation, and £25k at an £11.6m valuation. The current £150k raise represents a slight increase in the company valuation over the last year.

The Smart Container Company Ltd focuses on providing hardware and software solutions that allow for better asset management. Documentation for this funding was filed in March 2026 (following an allotment of shares in October 2025). Total funding across the four recorded pre-seed rounds now stands at approximately £399.5k.
