State Mode secures £1.1m to develop fungi-derived brain health compounds
Published
Engineering natural, fungi-derived compounds to assist the brain in self-regulation is the core focus of State Mode Limited. The Ascot-based startup develops these substances to restore focus, resilience, and calm without forcing the brain into unnatural patterns. Its work falls under a broad range of professional and technical activities, which can include quality assurance, security consultancy, scientific research, and weather forecasting.
A recent funding round has seen the company raise £1.1m. This investment results in an estimated post-money valuation of £5.2m for the business.
Incorporated in 2022, the firm maintains a digital presence at statemode.io. Financial accounts for the period ending 31 March 2025 recorded a headcount of four employees, although more recent social media profiles list a single staff member.
The capital raised this year represents the only funding milestone for the company. Documentation for the share allotment was filed in July (2026).
