Wolverhampton-based StudentCrowd secures £6.5m to expand student data platform

Published

An estimated £6.5m in new capital has been secured by StudentCrowd, a Wolverhampton-based platform providing verified reviews and market intelligence for the student accommodation sector. It helps students choose higher education institutions and courses through a community-driven system. Authenticity is maintained by verifying that users possess a valid university email address.

Founded in 2014, the firm addresses the need for transparency in the purpose-built market. Its insights arm serves a different audience, including property developers, investors, and advisers, by offering real-time information on rental incentives, pricing, and availability. This dataset currently tracks over 4.3 billion data points across several European regions, including Ireland, Germany, Spain, and Italy.

More than 14 million users have accessed the service to date. Financial filings from the year ended 31 December 2024 show 27 staff members, though more recent figures from LinkedIn indicate a headcount of 62. This injection represents the total raised during 2026, following an April allotment and a July filing.
