London-based Scannetix Ltd has secured £50k in new funding to advance its technology designed to prevent underground utility strikes during construction. The investment values the company at an estimated £1.5m.

Founded in 2021, Scannetix develops B-UDS, a solution aimed at detecting and avoiding pipes and cables during excavation. The company targets construction businesses to reduce the frequency of utility accidents, which currently number approximately 60,000 per year in the UK. These incidents result in 74 life-changing injuries annually and carry an estimated cost of £2.4bn to the government and £6.5bn to the industry.

The company operates from its headquarters in London and provides infrastructure support throughout the excavation process. Scannetix serves as an advisor to the Health and Safety Executive and British Standards, drawing on research to improve site efficiency and infrastructure resilience.

Financial records for the year ending 30 June 2025 show the company employed two people. More recent data from LinkedIn indicates a headcount of three. This latest funding round follows an allotment of shares (April 2026), with formal documentation filed in May 2026.
