Sagetech Medical secures £8.6m for anaesthetic gas recycling technology

Capturing and recycling environmentally harmful anaesthetic agents is the core focus of Sagetech Medical Equipment Limited, which has raised an estimated £8.6m in its latest funding round. The Paignton-based company reached an estimated post-money valuation of £23.8b following the investment.

The business was incorporated in 2015 to solve the problem of waste volatile gases in operating theatres. Its circular-economy system uses reusable filters to recover these substances for future medical use, offering a managed collection service to hospitals. The technology is built to integrate with existing equipment without altering standard clinical procedures.

Financial records for the year ended 30 December 2024 show the firm employed 14 people, though current LinkedIn data suggests the team has grown to 20 staff. Prior to this round, the company secured £1.7m in 2025 and has recorded £1.1m in total funding for the current calendar year.

In March, the company appointed William Peter Farrar Vickers to its board of directors. Formal documentation for the share allotment was filed in May.
