The company utilizes its proprietary DropForm system to tailor bio-based materials to the specific requirements of consumer product manufacturers. These materials are engineered to be compatible with existing production lines, allowing brands to integrate sustainable alternatives without replacing their current machinery.

Natural Negative was incorporated in 2024 to solve the sourcing difficulties faced by consumer brands looking for sustainable packaging and product components. The business operates at the intersection of chemical manufacturing and biotechnology, providing a bridge between raw bio-materials and the specific needs of a brand's supply chain.

The latest funding round resulted in an estimated raise of £372.5k. This follows the company's first full year of operations, with accounts for the period ending 28 February 2025 showing the firm is scaling its initial team. Natural Negative currently employs three people at its headquarters in Brighton.

The capital from this round (allotted in March and filed in April 2026) supports the continued development of the DropForm platform. By using AI to match material properties with manufacturing constraints, the company aims to reduce the technical barriers that often prevent large-scale adoption of compostable materials in the consumer goods sector.
