Glasgow-based Nami Surgical secures £2.4m for robotic surgery technology

Nami Surgical is developing a world-first miniaturised ultrasonic energy platform designed for integration into robotic surgery systems. Based in Glasgow, the company provides surgeons with wristed instruments that preserve dexterity while delivering advanced vessel sealing and tissue dissection. Its technology targets the precision surgery market to improve operative performance.

The biotechnology firm has raised £2.4m in its latest funding round. This new capital follows a previous investment of £1.9m secured in 2025. Since its incorporation in 2021, the business has focused on solving the challenge of integrating surgical tools into these platforms.

Financial records for the year ended 31 December 2025 show the company had 14 employees at that time. Current figures from LinkedIn suggest the workforce has expanded to 21 people. The business operates the website namisurgical.com and filed documentation for this latest share allotment in September 2026.
