Quantum computing startup Moth Limited has secured an estimated £2.9m in a Series A funding round to develop consumer products for the media and entertainment sectors. This latest injection of capital follows two previous funding events in early 2024, which included a £2.5m round in January and a £500k round in February.
Incorporated in 2022 and based in London, the company operates under the name MOTH. It focuses on creating consumer products and services that leverage quantum computing technology to build new digital experiences within the media industry. The company also provides a range of information technology services, including data archiving, backup services, and software disaster recovery.
The Series A round involved an allotment of shares (February) with formal documentation filed subsequently (April). This round brings the total estimated capital raised by the firm across its known funding history to approximately £5.9m.
Financial records for the year ending 31 December 2024 indicate that Moth Limited employed five people at that time. More recent data from the company's professional profiles suggests the workforce has since expanded to 24 employees. The firm maintains its headquarters in London and continues to develop its software platform for the media industry.
