Developing a new generation of herbicides to address the global threat of weed resistance is the focus of Moa Technology, a biotechnology company spun out of Oxford University. It utilizes artificial intelligence to discover products for farmers and the international agricultural sector.
Founded in 2017, the business aims to protect harvests and improve food security by bypassing current biological defenses through its safe solutions. Its workforce includes a team of scientists and industry experts. Financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 show the company generated £2.5m in revenue while recording an £11.2m loss.
An estimated £22.2m was secured in a Series C+ funding round, representing the total capital raised during 2026. The firm currently employs 83 people according to its latest accounts, though LinkedIn data indicates a headcount of 87 staff. Documentation for the allotment was filed in July.
