Sutton-based OTUA secures £767k Seed round for healthcare AI assistant

OTUA, the trading name for Med Automation Ltd, has raised £767k in a Seed funding round to expand its AI-driven healthcare administration tools. Based in Sutton, the company develops software solutions designed to manage high-volume clerical tasks and patient appointments for the NHS and private healthcare organisations.

The investment places the company at an estimated post-money valuation of £3.8m. This funding follows an allotment of shares (October 2025) with formal documentation filed in March 2026.

Founded in 2023, Med Automation Ltd addresses the administrative burden in clinical settings through its primary product, OTTO. OTTO functions as an automated digital assistant that uses AI voice technology and appointment management systems to streamline patient communication. The software is built to handle routine administrative duties, allowing healthcare providers to focus on clinical delivery rather than manual scheduling.

Financial filings indicate that the company currently employs five people. While there is a South African industrial engineering firm with a similar name, the UK-registered Med Automation Ltd operates specifically within the software development sector, focusing on the UK healthcare market. The capital supports the continued development of the OTTO platform as it seeks to increase its footprint within both public and private health sectors.
