Labcycle Ltd raises £250k for laboratory plastic recycling technology

Transforming single-use plastic waste from the research and healthcare sectors into recycled feedstock is the primary mission of Labcycle Ltd, which has raised an estimated £250k in its latest funding round. Based in Croydon, the company provides bespoke services to collect and decontaminate plastics used in clinical and research environments.

Founded in 2021, Labcycle Ltd addresses the environmental impact of laboratory plastic waste by converting it into high-quality feedstock and new lab consumables. This process establishes a circular economy within a sector that traditionally relies on landfill or incineration for disposal.

The current £250k investment follows a £1m round completed in January 2026. Previous funding history includes a £46k raise in June 2023, £80k in November 2022, and £133k in October 2022. The company reached a valuation of £1.4m during the October 2022 round.

Financial accounts for the year ended 31 January 2025 indicate that the business employed five people. Although the company LinkedIn profile currently lists one employee, the statutory filings confirm a higher headcount for the previous year. (The filing for this latest round was made in May 2026, following an allotment of shares in April 2026).

The company operates as a waste treatment specialist, focusing on the disposal and repurposing of non-hazardous materials. By providing a closed-loop system for laboratory plastics, the business provides an alternative to standard waste management practices in the life sciences industry.
