Strathclyde University triples stake in Insignia Technologies Limited

Insignia Technologies Limited develops patented colour changing inks and films that provide real time visual indicators of carbon dioxide, time, and temperature. Based in Newhouse and founded in 2008, the company produces freshness tags and leak detection tape for the food, healthcare, and industrial sectors.

Strathclyde University significantly increased its position in the company, raising its holding by 187 percent from 17,647 to 50,588 A Ordinary shares. Equity Gap Limited joined the cap table as a new shareholder with 5,705 A Ordinary shares. Equity Gap is also a shareholder in MiAlgae Ltd and Neurocentrx Pharma Limited. G & S Buttsworth Holdings Pty Ltd, which also backs Carbogenics Ltd, increased its stake by 31 percent to 14,760 shares.

These changes, recorded in a confirmation statement for the period ending 21 June 2026, may signal a recent investment round. Existing major shareholders remaining on the cap table include the Scottish Enterprise Scottish Co-Investment Fund with 585,889 shares and 24 Haymarket Nominees with 287,791 shares. The University of Strathclyde also maintains a separate holding of 170,326 shares, alongside Shancastle Investments Limited with 155,193 shares and E.G Thomson (Holdings) Ltd with 13,817 shares. David Houston and Hornbuckle Mitchell Trustees Ltd also remain on the cap table with 3,516 shares.
