Harness Therapeutics secures £4m Series A for neurodegenerative disease research

An estimated £4m Series A round has been secured by Harness Therapeutics to advance its pipeline of disease-modifying therapies. The Cambridge-based company utilizes its proprietary MISBA platform alongside RNA-based technologies to develop precision medicines for the central nervous system.
Founded in 2018, the biotechnology firm focuses on neurodegenerative disorders including Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and ALS. Its approach involves controlled protein up-regulation through physiological and post-transcriptional mechanisms. The technical portfolio includes expertise in mRNA, antisense oligonucleotides (ASO), and SINEUP.
This capital injection is the total funding raised by the business during 2026. Financial records for the year ending 31 December 2025 show the organization employed 26 people, though more recent data from LinkedIn indicates a current headcount of 33 staff. The latest investment documentation was filed recently (September) following an allotment of shares (August).
