Hapipod secures £30k for homeshare matching platform
Published
Matching homeowners with lodgers through a companionship-for-rent model, Hapipod Ltd has raised £30k in its latest funding round. The Gateshead-based company reached an estimated post-money valuation of £1.5m following the investment.
Founded in 2020, Hapipod operates a web portal designed to facilitate affordable housing arrangements. The platform connects individuals who have spare rooms with lodgers seeking lower rent. In exchange for the reduced cost, lodgers provide practical help or companionship to the homeowner. This model addresses housing affordability while providing social support for homeowners who live alone.
The funding was finalised in April 2026 with documentation filed in May 2026. This £30k injection follows the company's most recent financial reporting period, which ended on 30 September 2024.
Hapipod functions as a digital marketplace within the property technology sector. Its primary service involves vetting and pairing users to ensure that the practical help offered by a lodger aligns with the specific needs of the homeowner. The platform manages the administrative aspects of the matching process to facilitate secure connections between homeowners and potential lodgers. These arrangements are intended to create mutually beneficial living situations that differ from traditional rental agreements.
The company is headquartered in Gateshead and has been active in the homesharing market for four years. This latest round of capital will support the continued operation of its online matching infrastructure.
