Newport-based Finchetto secures £424.7k for passive optical Ethernet switches

Fully-optical passive Ethernet switches are the focus of Newport-based Finchetto Ltd, which has secured an estimated £424.7k in its latest funding round. The company reached an estimated post-money valuation of £20.4m through the deal. Its technology is designed for AI clusters and data centers, providing ultra-low latency and high-throughput packet switching.
By significantly reducing power consumption compared to traditional electronic switches, the hardware aims to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability. The business was incorporated in 2020.
According to its latest accounts for the year ended 31 July 2025, the firm employed 10 people. This current round follows £894.3k raised during the previous calendar year. The latest shares were allotted in August, with formal documentation filed in September.
