Etched Tech secures £3.1m to simplify intellectual property protection
Published
Proving ownership of unregistered intellectual property is the focus of London-based Etched Tech Limited, which has just secured an estimated £3.1m in new funding. The company provides a platform for musicians, screenwriters, and legal teams to capture immutable, time-stamped evidence of authorship. This technology addresses the risk of work being lost or ownership timelines becoming unclear, allowing users to track assets from the first draft.
The current capital raise results in an estimated post-money valuation of £5.5m, following a total of £136k raised throughout 2025. Formal documentation regarding the share allotment and filing was completed in March.
Founded in 2023, the startup (UK company #14900487) employs eight people and provides services related to patent and copyright agency activities alongside other legal services and software development. Financial records for the firm were most recently updated for the year ended 31 May 2025.
