Gloucester-based Equisera secures £25k for circular energy technology

Published

Converting biogenic waste into fossil-competitive fuels is the core focus of Equisera Ltd, which has recently secured an estimated £25k in new funding. Based in Gloucester, the company was incorporated in 2022 to engineer circular energy systems that transform biogenic materials and waste into clean fuels such as biomethane and hydrogen.

The firm utilizes a patented technology called the Rising Pressure Reformer (RiPR). This system uses supercritical water to process waste, simultaneously capturing carbon dioxide and producing biochar. The technology provides a carbon-negative energy pathway for industrial sectors looking to decarbonize while utilizing existing infrastructure.

This latest £25k injection (allotted in April and filed in May) follows a series of funding rounds since the company's inception. In 2025, Equisera raised £50k in July, £303.3k in April, and £306.7k in March. Previous larger rounds include £1000k in February 2024 and £1.1m in June 2023. Earlier capital raises occurred in August 2022 (£169.6k), July 2022 (£897.1k), and February 2022 (£60k).

While the valuation for the current £25k round was not disclosed, the company was valued at £300k during its initial £60k raise in February 2022.

Equisera is headquartered in Hardwicke, Gloucester. LinkedIn data indicates the company currently employs 14 people. Its latest accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025 have been filed. The company targets industries seeking scalable pathways to clean energy without compromising on cost or reliability.
