Circtec secures £36.8m Series A for tyre recycling technology
Published
Extracting and recycling carbon black from end-of-life tyres is the core focus of Circtec Ltd., which has just secured an estimated £36.8m Series A funding round. The London-based company, incorporated in 2018, utilizes a proprietary pyrolysis and upgrading process to transform waste into renewable fuels and circular chemicals. These outputs are intended for use in various industrial products, addressing the environmental footprint of sectors seeking circular solutions.
Financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2024 show the business generated £11.9m in revenue and reported a £39.3m loss. While the firm maintains a workforce of 70 according to its latest accounts, platform data lists 54 employees. Total funding recorded for 2026 currently stands at £28.1m, following £15.9m raised throughout 2025.
Several board appointments were made leading up to the round's completion, which was documented in a filing made in September. Cynthia Florence Kueppers joined as a director in June (the month of the allotment); LinkedIn suggests she is a Senior Partner in the Planetary Health Investments team at Novo Holdings. Nis Bjornholt Bak and Alex Wang both joined the board in May; Bak is possibly a Principal at the same firm while AI suggests Wang may be an Equity Vol Trader at Citi.
