Chorus Intelligence Secures £18.2m Series C+ to Scale Digital Investigation Software

Woodbridge-based software developer Chorus Intelligence Limited has secured £18.2m in a Series C+ funding round to accelerate the global rollout of its digital investigation platform. The transaction, allotted on 11 March 2026 and filed today, brings the company to an estimated post-money valuation of £300.3m.

Founded in October 2011 by Boyd Mulvey, Chorus Intelligence develops data cleansing and analysis software tailored for law enforcement, government agencies, and corporate investigators. The company addresses a critical bottleneck in modern policing and intelligence operations: the overwhelming volume and fragmentation of digital evidence.

As criminal networks increasingly rely on sophisticated digital communication and financial systems, investigators are routinely tasked with parsing massive, disparate data sets. The company's flagship platform, the Chorus Intelligence Suite, automates the ingestion and integration of these complex data types. By combining call data records, handset downloads, automatic number plate recognition data, and financial transactions into a single visualised environment, the software enables investigators to detect connections, map social networks, and turn raw data into court-ready evidence.

Chorus Intelligence has established a formidable presence within the United Kingdom's security infrastructure. The company's software is currently deployed across the majority of UK police forces and is utilised by all of the nation's counter-terrorism units. Operating from its headquarters in Suffolk with a workforce of 53 employees, the firm has steadily grown its footprint, generating estimated annual revenues in the region of £5.8m.

The £18.2m Series C+ round marks a major milestone in the company's growth trajectory. The round was heavily supported by Maven Capital Partners, which provided a £15m injection via its UK Regional Buyout Fund II. This capital will be directed toward enhancing the platform's artificial intelligence capabilities, improving automation features for investigative efficiency, and driving international expansion, particularly in the United States where the company maintains a presence in Virginia Beach. The funding will also provide a war chest for potential strategic acquisitions in what remains a highly fragmented market for digital forensics and investigation tools.

Prior to this Series C+ transaction, Chorus Intelligence had raised approximately £9m in historical funding from backers including Charlotte Street Capital, Amati Global Investors, and Speedinvest. This new £18.2m injection significantly eclipses its previous raises, highlighting the robust valuation multiples currently available for mature, mission-critical technologies in the public safety sector, as evidenced by the £300.3m post-money valuation. It also reflects a broader structural shift in how law enforcement agencies are funded and equipped.

The UK funding landscape for law enforcement technology is currently experiencing a period of targeted investment, driven by national policy shifts. In March 2026, the UK government unveiled its updated Fraud Strategy for 2026 to 2029, which acknowledges that fraud now accounts for approximately 40 percent of recorded crime. A central pillar of this strategy is the creation of a £31m Online Crime Centre, set to launch in April 2026, which will bring together law enforcement and private sector technology partners to disrupt organised digital crime networks.
